Bark & Basil began as a family passion project, inspired from our own dogs who struggled with persistent skin and paw sensitivities. Frustrated by the harsh chemicals in conventional products, we turned to the healing power of plants to create gentle, effective alternatives - right from our kitchen. (More specifically Jemima's) 

What started as a solution for our pups quickly grew into a mission: to help dogs everywhere feel their best, naturally. Today, we handcraft every skin product using botanical ingredients that are safe, soothing, and thoughtfully selected for even the most sensitive skin. 

At Bark & Basil, we believe every dog deserves relief, comfort and care - the kind that comes from nature, not a lab.

We're the humans (and dogs) behind Bark & Basil. Each of us brining something different to the table to provide the best for all dogs.

Co-Founder - Jemima

Driven by a deep love of dogs and all things natural, Jemima began formulating remedies for both her own and her parent's dogs from within her kitchen. She's the brains and heart behind every formulation - from sourcing high-quality botanical ingredients to handcrafting products that nourish even the most sensitive pups. With a background in R&D and natural cosmetic formulation, Jemima brings her expertise and care into every product developed at Bark & Basil .

Co-Founder - Alex

As the original inspiration behind Bark & Basil Alex challenged Jemima to find natural solutions for the family dogs' skin sensitivities - sparking the journey that started it all. A lifelong dog lover with a creative eye, she now handcrafts our beautiful quilted blankets, bandanas and accessories with care. From fabric to finish, every piece reflects her passion for quality, comfort and canine style .

Luna - Chief of Quality Control

Luna runs a tight ship. As a husky she is sassy, sharp and never afraid to voice her opinion. She takes her role very seriously - especially when it comes to sniff testing new formulas or inspecting freshly sewn bandanas. As Jemima's right-paw pup, she keeps everyone in line and ensures only the best products make it out the door. If it doesn't meet Luna's standards, it's back to the drawing board.

Star - Head of Security (Part Time Model)

Don't let her size fool you - in true Jack nature Star is small but fierce. As Head of Security, nothing (and no one) gets past her without a thorough inspection... and a bark or two. Vigilant, bold, and always on high alert, she keeps the team safe and the postman in check. When she's not on duty, you'll find her striking a pose - moonlighting as a part-time model for Bark & Basil's accessories. Style and security? She's got both covered.

Dust - Head of HR

Half Whippet, half Collie, and fully over your nonsense - Dust runs HR with a raised eyebrow and zero tolerance for drama. Judgemental by natural and deeply unimpressed by chaos, he handles all internal complaints with a signature stare that says, "Really?" He's the king of quiet authority, the keeper of peace and if you cross a line ... expect a formal sigh and slow walk out of the room. Don't mistake the stillness - He sees everything.
